Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the new facelifted XL6 in the country. The XL6 is a premium six-seater version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga seven-seater MPV and it was first launched in the Indian market in August 2019. For this year, the XL6 has been fitted with a lot of updates, including cosmetic enhancements, new features, and an updated powertrain.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 Exteriors

XL6 includes a mildly updated grille with more chrome, a new chrome bar on the tailgate and new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Maruti XL6 2022 will be the company’s first car that will be equipped with ventilated front driver and co-passenger seats. A 360-degree view camera will offer convenience while parking the vehicle.

Other highlights include new telescopic adjustment for steering wheel, new ambient footwell lighting, new front door lamps, full-LED headlamps.

The Maruti XL6 facelift will get a Heads-Up Display showcasing the details, such as navigation, speed, engine RPM, and symbols on the glass screen. It will also get a wireless smartphone charger, TPMS, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and in-built Suzuki Connect telematics.

It will also get ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a high-speed alert system, and driver and co-driver seat belt reminders are standard across the range.  It also includes connected car features called Suzuki Connect that offers voice assistant functions. Another welcome addition are ventilated front seats that'll be a boon in our weather condition.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 Engine

The new XL6 comes with a new 1.5-litre DualJet engine, which uses two injectors per cylinder, giving it greater control over the fuel injection, and greater power and efficiency as a result. It also features Maruti's smart-hybrid technology with start-stop technology. It puts out 103hp at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm at 4,400rpm, which is 2hp and 1.2Nm down on the outgoing 1.5 engine. The XL6 is, then, the second Maruti model to be offered with the DualJet 1.5-litre engine, and is expected to make its way into bigger Maruti models in the future.

It also gets the new 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, which first debuted with the recently launched Ertiga. The standard 5-speed manual gearbox has been carried over as is. The updated XL6 is claimed to do 20.97kpl with the manual gearbox and 20.27kpl with the auto.
