34-year-old Mumbai woman died in hospital today after being brutally raped and tortured with an iron rod

Mumbai Sai Naka rape case:

A 34-year-old woman raped and dehumanized inside a parked tempo last week in suburban Mumbai’s Sainaka last week passed away earlier this day at a local hospital. In an inhumane attack quite similar to the Delhi medical student in 2012, the Mumbai woman was raped and brutally tortured by inserting an iron rod inside her body.

A team of police officers discovered her body lying with blood all over on Khairani Road after receiving an alert call from the control room. 

The woman was immediately rushed to the Rajawadi Hospital, a government-run institution.

Reports by news agency PTI stated that initial investigation found bloodstains inside the tempo, parked during the assault.  

An accused in the case, 45-year-old Mohan Chouhan has been arrested under the charges of rape and attempt to murder. While there is an expectation of the charges being revised to murder after the death of the victim.
