This 75th Independence Day 2021 we are discussing the major changes being made in the Indian Railways system, and about the Dedicated Freight Corridor and the highest bridge.

Former Chairman, Freight Corridor, Anurag Sachan shared that the Indian Railways have incorporated various multi-level projects to improve its infrastructure including Dedicated Freight Corridor, which are at their advanced stage.

The Dedicated Freight Corridor is a project by Indian Railways under which, only freight trains will run on special corridors carrying a load up to 13,000 tonnes, connecting Delhi to Mumbai, and traveling from Ludhiana to Son Nagar, Bihar via Delhi. The Dedicated Freight Corridor Project is a 3,000 km long route aiming to support the Indian economy a lot.

The Indian Railways has connected Jammu and Kashmir with its Indian Railways network and system with its Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramula railway line. This railways line is in the pipeline and work on it is still underway. This railway line is being constructed over the Chenab River and will be the world’s highest railway bridge at a height of 359 m.
