A young man was taking drugs near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Nihangs put him to death

A surprising incident has come to the fore near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab. Where, on Thursday morning, a person who was consuming intoxicants near the temple was put to death by Nihangs. A waiter is also involved in the incident along with two Nihangs. The trio killed the man outside a hotel on Mahana Singh Road.

Police Commissioner comments on the situation

Police Commissioner Arun Pal Singh said that the youth was killed simply because he was consuming tobacco and he was drinking alcohol. The youth has been identified as Harmanjit Singh. He was a resident of Amritsar. One of the accused in the murder, Ramandeep Singh, has been arrested by the police. While the search is on for two Nihang Sikhs.

This incident took place near the Golden Temple in the marketplace. Harmanjit Singh (35), a resident of Tarn Taran Road Chatiwind, was going from home towards the Golden Temple at night. He was standing in front of a hotel on the way. He was drunk and had some intoxicant in his hand, which he started putting in his mouth. Then two Nihang Sikhs passed by. He stopped Harmanjit Singh and the fight started. Both the Nihangs and a Sikh youth started a scuffle with Harmanjit.

Entire incident captured on CCTV

Both the Nihang Sikhs cut Harmanjit Singh with such sharp weapons that he died on the spot. Thereafter the accused fled from there. By the time the police arrived, Harmanjeet was already dead. 

The entire incident of attack on Harmanjeet has been captured in CCTV. The local police said that they have seized the CCTV footage. The Nihangs are being identified. Soon the accused will be caught. At present, the process of post-mortem of the youth is going on.
