AAP-BJP representatives fight during the Delhi MCD Mayoral Election, causing a commotion | AAP | BJP | Mayor Election

The election for mayor of Delhi will take place after the MCD elections. The deputy mayor and members of the standing committee will also be chosen at the same time. In the midst of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Mayor elections, there has been a commotion. When Satya Sharma was sworn in, there was a commotion. The councillors are in opposition to having the nominees take the oath first. AAP and BJP corporators got into a fight over this. AAP members asks why were the BJP's newly elected corporators sworn in first. As a result, there has been a stir.

Deputy CM Manish reacts to the commotion

Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, tweeted in response to the incident, "How low will BJP people go to cover up their wrongdoing in MCD! Elections were delayed, the presiding officer was unlawfully chosen, nominated councillors were unlawfully chosen, and now the oath of office is not being administered to the elected councillors of the people. Why hold elections if you can't respect the people's will?

Elections stuck due to the uproar

Due to the fierce opposition from BJP and Aam Aadmi Party councillors, the elections for the mayor, deputy mayor, and members of the standing committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi are now stalled. The MCD House's sessions were postponed till a later date by the presiding officer because of the commotion. The Lieutenant Governor will make known when the House of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will meet again. The four nominated members' oaths were recorded in the House's minutes.
