A painful accident has happened in the rural area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. 10 people died when a tractor trolley of devotees going from Sitapur to Unai Devi temple overturned in the pond. While 37 people were seriously injured. All the injured have been taken out of the pond and admitted to the nearest hospital. It is feared that some other people may also be submerged in the pond. SDRF's search operation is going on for their search.
District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar said that some people from Sitapur were going to Unai Devi temple for the mundan ceremony. He said that on the way the tractor-trolley overturned in a pond near Gaddinpurwa of Itaunja area, due to which the people on it got buried under it. Hearing the noise, the villagers present nearby pulled out the people who were buried under the tractor-trolley. He said that 10 people died in this incident. Eight women and two children were among the dead.
According to police sources, 47 people were on the tractor trolley. Gangwar said that the families of those killed in this accident will be given an assistance of Rs.4 lakh each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. He said 37 people were injured in the accident. Of them, 36 are being treated at the Community Health Center in Itaunja while another injured has been admitted to the King George Medical University Hospital in Lucknow.
