Action of Kejriwal Government on BJP's under construction office, fine of 5 lakh also imposed

The Kejriwal Government of Delhi has not only stopped the ongoing construction work on the under-construction office of BJP, but has also imposed a fine of 5 lakhs. Environment Minister Gopal Rai has taken this action in the Kejriwal Government. This action has been taken on the Under Construction Building of BJP located on DDU Marg. Actually, in view of the pollution in Delhi, construction and demolition works have been banned.

Gopal Rai told reporters, "The workers involved in the construction work say that the work is related to the national headquarters of the BJP. We have yet to confirm this. This is a complete violation of the orders of the CAQM. We have imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on construction agency Larsen & Toubro.

The Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) on Saturday directed officials to ban construction and demolition activities in Delhi-NCR, except for essential projects. Government officials were directed to immediately implement the restrictions under Phase III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). CAQM, a statutory body, was constituted in 2021 to control air pollution in the Delhi-National Capital Region.

Slight improvement in AQI in Delhi

The air quality in Delhi improved slightly on Tuesday morning and the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the 'poor' category. The minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 15.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI of the city was recorded at around 9.15 am at 266.
