After the BSF, the Central Home Ministry has now declared a 10% reserve for former Agniveers in the hiring of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Depending on whether they are a member of the initial batch of Agniveers or later batches, the government has also announced a modification in the upper age restriction.

Age relaxation on the basis of batches

According to the ministry, the maximum age would be lowered by up to five years for applicants from the first batch of ex-Agniveers and by up to three years for applicants from other cohorts.

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that the maximum age limit for ex-firefighters would be eased to five years for the first batch and three years for following batches. Apart from this, Ex-firefighters would also be excused from the Physical Efficiency Test. The paramilitary forces’ enlistment age range is 18 to 23 years old. Following four years of service in the Army, Air Force, or Navy in the case of the first batch, those joining the armed forces even at the maximum age limit of 21 under the Agneepath plan can be recruited by the CISF up to the age of 30. The maximum age for subsequent batches will be 28.
