Organizations from the central to the state government are engaged in efforts to overcome the Joshimath crisis. But meanwhile, news of land subsidence has started coming in other areas of Uttarakhand. Cracking of houses has also come to the fore in Karnprayag, situated in the southwest of Chamoli district, some 82 km from Joshimath.

The cracks in some houses of this city situated at the confluence of Alaknanda and Pindar river have become so deep that dozens of families living here had to spend the night in the relief camp set up by the municipal council. Is Happening, according to media reports. 

Two dozen houses in Bahuguna Nagar of Karnprayag, located near the Badrinath Highway, have developed deep cracks and their roofs are hanging in the air.
