The Allahabad High Court has given a big decision regarding the marriages in Arya Samaj. The High Court said that on the basis of the certificate issued by Arya Samaj, one cannot be considered married. The High Court, while making a scathing remark, said that the Arya Samaj Sanstha has misused the rights given to marriage.
In a case related to Ghaziabad, a single bench of Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri made this harsh remark regarding the marriage certificates of Arya Samaj. Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri said, “There has been a flood of marriage certificates being issued from Arya Samaj. No one can be considered married on the basis of the certificate of Arya Samaj alone."
A bench of Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri considered the petitioner not married on the basis of the certificate of Arya Samaj and dismissed the habeas corpus petition filed by the husband to get his wife back. Actually, Bhola Singh, while filing a habeas corpus petition, had demanded to get the wife back. It was said in the petition that the corpus is the wife of the petitioner. Along with this, the marriage certificate of Arya Samaj Mandir and some photographs were also presented. On which the court said that there has been a flood of issuance of the marriage certificate by the institution.
