Amidst nationwide outrage over the poster of a documentary film 'Kali' by director Leena Manimekalai, a man and a woman dressed up as Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati lodged their protest in Nagaon, Assam. Controversy has broken out regarding this. The Naugaon district units of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad strongly condemned the incident. He alleged that the sentiments of Hindu Sanatan Dharma have been hurt.
The controversy began on Saturday evening when a woman and a man disguised as Shiva and Parvati took to the streets to protest over rising prices of fuel, food items and other items.Both the bike riders reached College Chowk in Nagaon.Here he did a drama when the vehicle ran out of fuel.
Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the actor dressed as Lord Shiva said the government was working only in the interest of the capitalists and was not concerned about the issues of the common people.He then urged the curious spectators to take to the streets and protest the rising inflation.
Following this a complaint was lodged against the actor duo (Birinchi Bora and Karishma) at the Nagaon Sadar police station. After this Bora was arrested by the police. The stunt caught the attention of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. He criticized the play and accused the youth of hurting Hindu sentiments.
