Army Accident Sikkim: 16 soldiers martyred as the army vehicle overturned, the convoy truck skidded on a steep slope

A big road accident has happened in Sikkim. Here on Friday, a bus fell into a deep gorge, due to which 16 Army soldiers were martyred. A crowd has gathered at the spot. Relief and rescue work has been started on the spot. The accident took place in Gema area, 15 km from Lachen in North Sikkim.

PM Modi expressed grief

According to a senior police officer, the injured have been airlifted to a military hospital in North Bengal. Expressing grief over this incident, PM Narendra Modi said that he is saddened by the soldiers killed in the road accident in Sikkim. He said, I am pained by the martyrdom of our brave soldiers in the road accident in Sikkim. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured get well soon.

Rajnath Singh talks about the incident

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over this accident. Expressing condolence on Twitter , Rajnath Singh said, "A road accident in North Sikkim has resulted in the loss of lives of many army personnel, for which the country is deeply saddened  and is grateful for their service and commitment." My condolences to the bereaved families, I wish for the speedy recovery of the soldiers injured in the accident.
