Aryan Khan case live update: As per the recent reports Mumbai High Court will now pass the judgement today in Aryan Khan's bail plea hearing. The hearing will take place at 2:30 PM. The single judge bench of justice Sambre will then resume Arbazz Merchant's bail plea hearing.
Aryan’s legal team appealed in the Mumbai’s High court for the bail hearing after facing the rejection of his bail plea twice from Mumbai’s magistrate court and anti drugs court. He's been in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail since October 8, and was previously held in the NCB's custody. The bail hearing was scheduled for 26th October. The court has begun hearing the bail plea of Aryan Khan. Former Attorney general Mukul Rohtagi is currently representing Aryan’s side.
Conspiracy charge is not applicable in Aryan’s case
The little amount of cocaine found from Arbaaz Merchantt, according to Mukul Rohatgi, is insufficient to keep Aryan Khan in prison. Argues Aryan’s lawyer. “It is not a case of possession or consumption in my circumstance. What I'm saying with this collection of facts is that there isn't a case to be made. There is no possession or consumption... Why was this kid condemned to 20 days in prison?”
No recovery of drugs from Aryan no medical examination
During the bail plea hearing, Advocate Mukul Rohtagi argued that Aryan was not a customer he was invited there as a guest by a man named Pradeep Gaba who is an event manager.
“Many others were arrested after Aryan and Arbaaz. Nothing was found on Aryan, and no medical investigation was performed to determine whether he had taken narcotics.” Argued his lawyer, he further added “NCB appears to have had previous knowledge of people carrying narcotics, implying that they were there in some strength.”
Sameer Wankhede’s wife Kranti Redkar came in support
After the NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede was accused by an independent witness over a bribary case, his wife, Kranti Redkar, slammed Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik and others for their accusations on him. Kranti also dismissed bribery allegations made by a witness in the Mumbai cruise narcotics case and said many will be benefitted once Sameer gets his hand off from the case. She also claimed that the family is repeatedly getting death threats and warning over the phone, and they’s why they have been provided with police protection.
