Following the Assam floods, the situation has gotten worse. According to news agency ANI, the flood situation in Assam eased significantly on Friday, but the situation in Nagaon, Hojai, Cachar, and Darrang districts remained dire. As per the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, floods have affected 7.12 lakh people in 29 districts throughout the state. In Nagaon district, about 3.36 lakh people have been affected, with 1.66 lakh in Cachar, 1.11 lakh in Hojai, and 52,709 in Darrang.
On Friday, four persons were killed in flood waters in the districts of Cachar, Lakhimpur, and Nagaon, including two children. With this, the state's death toll from floods and landslides has grown to 14. According to the report, there are 80036.90 hectares of cropland and 2,251 hectares of pasture land.
