SP leader Azam Khan, who reached the Supreme Court regarding Jauhar University, has got relief. The Supreme Court has stayed the condition of Allahabad High Court regarding the bail of Azam Khan. The DM of Rampur has been directed to take possession of the land belonging to Jauhar University. On the petition of Azam Khan, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the UP government and sought a response.
Lawyer Nizam Pasha, while filing the application on behalf of Azam Khan, has demanded an early hearing from the vacation bench. At the same time, Justice Chandrachud said, keep the petition in front of the registrar for listing.
Azam Khan has said that as per the bail conditions fixed by the Allahabad High Court, about 13 hectares of land of the university campus has been taken over by the district administration. But imposing such conditions at the time of bail is wrong. Due to this, now the administration is preparing to demolish two buildings of the campus. Bulldozer action can happen at any time. Therefore, the Supreme Court should intervene soon after hearing this matter.
MLA Azam Khan, a founding member of the Samajwadi Party, was released from jail after 27 months. Without taking the name of Akhilesh Yadav, Azam had said that I was in jail for a long time, I do not know what happened in the state politically. There must have been some compulsions (for the SP). I have no complaints but regret that there has been no change. I wonder where I have missed in my loyalty, hard work, honesty that I have become such an object of hatred.
