Ballia Boat Accident: 30 missing as boat overturned in Balia, People went for Mundan ceremony- Watch Video

A boat going across the Ganges for the Mundan ceremony sank at Maldepur Sangam Ghat in UP's Ballia district at around 8 am on Monday. There were 30 to 35 people on the boat as well. 12 people were evacuated. The search for the remaining others is on. NDRF team was also called. 8 people were sent to the district hospital in critical condition. Three of these women died.

As soon as the boat sank, there was chaos on the ghat. It was a coincidence that the boat was near the cask. Many people were rescued with the help of ropes and clothes. The men in the boat themselves somehow managed to escape and started evacuating the women. People from the shore also reached with small boats and relief and rescue work started. After the accident, there was hue and cry for hours from the ghat to the hospital. A huge crowd has gathered at the spot.
