The entry of girls alone in the historic Jama Masjid of Old Delhi has now been banned. For this, an order has been issued by the Jama Masjid administration and a strip has been put on the gate of the mosque, in which it is written that it is forbidden for girls to enter the Jama Masjid alone. This strip is on all the three gates. This matter has come to the fore at a time when women of the Islamic community all over the world are fighting for their rights. Even in Iran, the women there are demonstrating on the streets regarding the hijab.
Please tell that this order of Jama Masjid is being criticized by terming it as fundamentalist mentality. People are saying how can someone treat half of the population like this. Regarding this matter, social worker Shahnaz Afzal said that in a country like India where everyone has equal rights. Such a decision in that is like keeping the constitution on hold. He further said that such a decision is not valid in any case. These decision makers are of that mindset who want to keep the girls in the well of darkness.
Regarding this matter, the spokesperson of the Muslim National Forum Shahid Saeed also criticized the decision and said that this mindset is wrong. He said that the place of worship should be open to everyone. Why this second-class treatment of women here. There is no such difference in the religious places of other religions.
