Bharat Bandh, called by the umbrella organisation of farmers’ unions,Samyukt Kisan Morcha, today, has affected people all over the country, which can be learnt through the pictures of traffic jams coming from various parts of the country. At many places, the supporters of Bharat Bandh, have halted the trains.
Delhi borders, expressways and railways blocked
Delhi borders, Punjab, Bihar and other states have been witnessing protests in support of Bharat Bandh, Many political parties and social organizations are also supporting the nationwide strike that has been called by farmers. The protestors also blocked the Ghazipur border, that connects Delhi to Uttar Pradesh.The protestors, since 6 am,have blocked the upper lane of Delhi-Meerut expressway and have assured that it will be freed after 4pm, as the Bharat Bandh will end. The farmers have also blocked Saharanpur-Lucknow-Chandigarh expressway and the railway track of Ropar. All trains from Ambala have been halted.Support for Bharat Bandh
Bharat Bandh is being supported by many organizations in every corner of the country.In Andhra Pradesh, Many communist organisations protested against the three farm laws, at Vijayawada Bus station and offered their support to Bharat Bandh. Effect of strike was felt in Kerala as well and many organisations protested at Kalaburgi Central Bus station, Karnataka to support Bharat Bandh. The strike was supported by many organizations in Bihar also.
The farmers have been protesting since a year. They are demanding that the government shall take the three farm laws back. The government and farmers had 10 rounds of discussions, but all in vain.
