The second cabinet meeting of the Punjab government was held in Chandigarh on Monday i.e. on May 2. Many big decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting. The cabinet has approved 26 thousand 454 posts of various departments. At the same time, the notification of one MLA and one pension has also been approved.
41.89 crore compensation has been approved in case of damage to cotton crop in Muktsar district. Of this, 38.08 crores are for farmers and 03.81 crores are for farm laborers. For small transporters, the time limit for depositing fee has been extended to three months. Fees can be paid in installments.

In Muktsar district, Rs 41.8 crore compensation has been approved for the damage of soft crops.

The Punjab government has so far taken two major decisions regarding the MLAs. Now the government is also preparing to cut the allowances given to the MLAs. According to the government spokesperson, soon the government will also take a decision on the deduction of allowances worth lakhs of rupees to the MLAs.
Earlier on Sunday, the Mann government made it clear that 117 MLAs of the state will now have to file their income tax on their own. This decision will be finalized in the cabinet. This will save about 70 lakh rupees from the government exchequer every year.
