Workers under the leadership of BJP state president Satish Poonia are gherao the assembly. Thousands of workers are protesting on the streets of Jaipur against the disease, unemployment, loan waiver, power cuts and other issues. Satish Poonia climbed the barricades put up by the police and started raising slogans against the government.
However, the police forces brought Poonia down from the barricades. During this, Satish Poonia fiercely targeted the Gehlot government. Satish Poonia said that the government does not want to listen to the voice of the people. Chief Minister Gehlot is touring the state to save the chair.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot told reporters in the House premises that the central government should declare lumpi disease as a national calamity. He said, “Our priority is how to save the lives of cows from lumpy skin disease, but the Indian government will give the vaccine, the medicines will be made available, so in such a situation we are demanding from the Indian government that you declare a national calamity.” It is worth mentioning that on this issue, three National Democratic Party (RLP) MLAs sat on a dharna in front of the plinth towards sloganeering in the House. These MLAs were carrying posters in their hands saying "Gomata Kare Pukar Humse Bachao Sarkar".
