BJP lost 14 MLAs at peak of Assembly elections 2022: Is BJP’s leadership in danger?

BJP loosing its MLA's on a spree, 14 members resigned

The political conflicts have taken a whole new level amid the 2022 Legislative Assembly Election. Many leaders, MPs and MLAs are leaving their parties and joining other parties. Because of these changes among the parties many might face difficulties and may or may not lose their votes. 

Names of MLAs who have left BJP

The biggest shock has come to BJP because 14 MLAs in Uttar Pradesh have left their party and have stated many reasons for their resignations. These 14 MLAs include RK Sharma, Swami Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Prajapati, Roshan Lal Verma and Bhagwati Sagar, Dara Singh Chauhan, Avtar Singh Bhadana, Dr. Mukesh Verma, Vinay Shakya, Digvijay Narayan Jai Chaube, Bala Prasad Awasthi, Rakesh Rathore, Madhuri Verma and Dharam Singh Saini. 

Dharam Singh Saini

Dr Dharam Singh Saini is 58 years old MLA contested election from Nakur, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017 and he won. He was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party but has resigned and reportedly joined Samajwadi Party. Also, he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Nakur constituency in the year 2012, while he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Sarsawa constituency in the year 2002 and 2007, respectively.

Rakesh Rathore

Rakesh Rathore is an Indian politician from Samajwadi Party. He was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and represented the Sitapur Assembly constituency in the Seventeenth Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.

Dr. Mukesh Verma

Third consecutive day, the resignations are pourning in from different staes and contituencies of BJP. Dr Mukesh Verma Posted His resignation on Twitter after the exit of Swami Prasad Maurya. Mukesh Verma is a candidate from Firozabad, Uttar pradesh leading the OBC. Like all others , they have the same agenda of backward classes not getting enough attention and respect.

Digvijay Narayan Chaube

Digvijay Narayan Chaubey (also known as Jay Chaubey) is a 49 year old Indian politician and a member of 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh of India. He represents the Khalilabad in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India and earlier was a member of BJP but resigned and now is a member of the Samajwadi Party.

Radha Krishna Sharma

Pandit RK Sharma is 53 years old MLA contested election from Bilsi, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017 and he won. He was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party but resigned on Monday and has allegedly joined Samajwadi Party. Also, he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Aonla constituency in the year 2007.

Swami Prasad Maurya

Swami Prasad Maurya is 68 years old MLA and Cabinet Minister in Uttar Pradesh. He represents the Padrauna constituency of Uttar Pradesh and was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party before which he was a member of Bahujan Samaj Party. Maurya has been a Member of the legislative assembly for five terms and has allegedly joined hands with Samajwadi Party for the Legislative Assembly Elections 2022.

Dara Singh Chauhan

Dara Singh Chauhan represented Madhuban in Uttar Pradesh and has been with BJP since 2015. He also became BJP’s OBC morcha president and was elected as the Cabinet Minister for forest and wildlife. Before that he was a member of Bahujan Samaj Party and represented Ghosi. He left them in 2015, shook hands with BJP and won the Madhuban constituency.

Bala Prasad Awasthi

Bala Prasad Awasthi is 69 years old MLA contested election from Dhaurahra, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017 and he won. Also, he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Dhaurahra constituency in the years 1991 and 2007, while he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Mohammdi constituency in the year 2012.

Brajesh Prajapati

Brajesh kumar Prajaptai is a 34 years old MLA from Uttar Pradesh. He represented Tindwari district in Uttar Pradesh and was a member of Bhartiya Janta Party but left them before the Legislative Assembly elections 2022. 

Madhuri Verma

Madhuri Verma is 57 years old MLA contested election from Nanpara, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017 and she won. She was associated with the Bharatiya Janta Party but has now resigned. Also, she was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Nanpara constituency in the year 2012.

Roshan Lal Verma

Roshan Lal Verma is a 58 years old MLA from Uttar Pradesh who represented Tilhar district and has been a MLA for three terms. He like the others was also a part of Bhartiya Janta Party but has rendered his resignation. Earlier he was a part of the Bahujan Samaj Party but left them and fought the 17th Legislative assembly elections under the hood of BJP.

Vinay Shakya

Vinay Shakya is 50 years old MLA contested election from Bidhuna, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017 and he won. Nowadays, he was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party but has resigned like many others. Also, he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Bidhuna constituency in the year 2002.

Avtar Singh Bhadana

Avtar Singh Bhadana is a 68 years old MLA from Uttar Pradesh who represented Meerapur constituency. He was also a member of Bhartiya Janta Party but resigned and joined RLD. He joined BJP in 2016 and before that he has been a member of Congress and Indian National Lok Dal respectively. 

Bhagwati Sagar

Bhagwati Prasad Sagar is 64 years old MLA contested election from Bilhaur, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017 and he won. He was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party but resigned. Also, he was elected as Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Bhognipur, Bilhaur and Mauranipur constituency in the years 1993, 1996 and 2007, respectively under the leadership of Bahujan Samaj Party. He was also the former Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Department of Labour Affairs in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

MLAs and parties who have joined and allied with Samajwadi Party 

This problem of BJP has brought gain for Samajwadi Party as RK Sharma and Swami Prasad Maurya have allegedly joined them and other members might also join SP soon. And in the recent events Cabinet Minister Dharam Singh Saini from BJP has also shifted to Samajwadi party. Akhilesh has welcomed him with the tweet "With the arrival of Dr. Dharam Singh Saini ji, another warrior of 'Social Justice', our 'positive and progressive politics' has got more enthusiasm and strength. Hearty welcome and greetings to him in SP! At twenty two inclusive-harmony is sure to win!".

Samajwadi Party might have a stronghold this time not only because of these newly joined candidates but because they have allied with many smaller parties who have a stronghold in many regions of Uttar Pradesh. These parties include Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) led by Shivpal Singh Yadav, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) led by Arun Rajbhar, Mahan Dal led by Keshav Dev Maurya, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) led by Jayant Chaudhary, Janwadi Party (socialist) led by Sanjay Singh Chauhan, Apna Dal-Kamera Wadi led by Krishna Patel and finally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar.
