BJP UP & Punjab Chunav Prabhari:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced the election in-charge for states including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur, and Uttarakhand, where elections are going to be held in 2022. Education Minister and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have been given charge of 403 seats in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, while Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will look after Punjab.
The list of Dharmendra Pradhan's deputies includes Anurag Singh Thakur, Arjun Meghwal, Saroj Pandey, Shobha Karandlaje, Capt Abhimanyu, Annapurna Devi, and Vivek Thakur. In the 2017 assembly elections, the Congress won just 7 seats in the 403-member assembly, while its ally SP got 47. The BJP won a thumping mandate with 312 seats and the BSP got 19 seats.
Hardeep Singh Puri, Meenakshi Lekhi, and Vinod Chavda have been appointed under Shekhawat to manage 117 seats in the Punjab Assembly.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi has been given charge of Uttarakhand and Lockett Chatterjee, Sardar RP Singh, will help him work in 70 assembly seats.
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been given responsibility for the Goa Assembly elections.
At the same time, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been made in charge of Manipur's assembly elections.
It must be noted that assembly elections are to be held in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur next year. At the same time, four out of five states are under the administration of the BJP and Punjab is under the administration of the Congress government.
Apart from this, BJP is currently facing a serious lash back from farmers considering the ongoing farmers’ protest, so, there are possibilities of BJP losing it large in Punjab in the upcoming Assembly Elections 2022.
