Manish Sisodia Arrested: Deputy CM Manish Sisodia arrested for liquor scam

Manish Sisodia Arrested: Delhi ‘s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia will be presented in Rouse Avenue Court today by the CBI. The CBI arrested Sisodia on Sunday in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam. Earlier, the Central Investigation Agency had questioned Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia for about 8 hours.

CBI arrests Manish Sisodia 

Manish Sisodia was interrogated for hours in connection to the excise policy and his alleged links with Dinesh Arora and other accused mentioned in the FIR. As the agency didn’t find Sisodia’s answers “satisfactory”, they proceeded to arrest him. 

The CBI said in a statement, “He (Manish Sisodia) gave evasive replies and did not cooperate the investigation despite being confronted with evidence to the contrary. The instant case was registered against Deputy Chief Minister and In charge Excise Minister, GNCTD of Delhi and 14 others for investigation into the matter of alleged irregularities in framing and implementation of Excise Policy for the year 2021-22 and extending post tender benefits to private persons.”

Manish Sisodia to be presented in Court

The Deputy CM will be produced in front of the court, to defend himself from the corruption allegations, if failed, he may face imprisonment. Ahead of his arrest, Sisodia said, “I might have to stay in jail for a few months, but I am not worried about it at all.”
