Both the youths arrested from Shimla district have no criminal record in the MMS viral case of Chandigarh University located in Mohali, Punjab. Sunny Mehta's father, who studied till Navami, is a gardener. Another youth, Rankaj Verma himself had contacted the police after his photo went viral on the internet media. Rankaj has graduated from Shimla. His family does agriculture. In the hostel, the students used to make videos of fellow students and send them to Sunny Mehta of Khangtedi village of Rohru. Sunny works in a relative's bakery shop in Rohru's Samala, where he gets six thousand rupees monthly. The relatives of the young man are gardeners.

It is being told that Sunny is in touch with the accused student since school time. Sunny used to chat with the girl student on WhatsApp. Whom the police is coming to arrest in Rohru on Sunday, it was not known till late evening. Based on the inputs received from the Mohali police, the police had detained the two brothers. The team from Mohali took only Sunny along.

At the same time, Rankaj Verma, arrested from Dhali in Shimla, himself contacted the police after the photo went viral on the internet media on Sunday. He had demanded action against those who made the photo viral. Originally from Theog's Sandhu, Rankaj works in a travel agency in Shimla.
