CM Yogi expressed grief over Sikkim accident, 4 soldiers of UP martyred, bodies will be sent home today

An army truck crashed into a gorge while taking a sharp turn at Gema in North Sikkim on Friday. In this accident, 16 military personnel including three Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO) were killed. While according to the army, four injured soldiers have been evacuated with the help of helicopter. Four soldiers from UP have been martyred in this accident in Sikkim.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also expressed grief over the accident. The death of army personnel in a road accident in Sikkim is extremely sad and painful. Humble tribute to the brave sons of India! My condolences are with the bereaved families. May Almighty God give place to the departed souls in His holy feet and speedy recovery to the injured.

Soldiers belonged to these places

Four soldiers of UP have been martyred in this accident, including one soldier each from Lucknow, Etah, Muzaffarnagar and Unnao. The news of the martyrdom of Lokesh Sehrawat, a resident of Yusufpur village under Bhopa police station area of Muzaffarnagar district, has sent a wave of mourning in the village and the region. At the same time, Lance Naik Bhupendra Singh, who lives in Aliganj of Etah district, has also been martyred in the accident.
