Rahul Gandhi is now in Punjab on his "Bharat Jodo Yatra," and senior Congressman and former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal has left the party and joined the BJP. In the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Manpreet Badal formally joined the saffron party. On this occasion, Piyush Goyal claimed that Manpreet Badal's entry will give the BJP more clout in Punjab.

Manpreet Badal gives statement

Manpreet Badal declared, "I have spent 30 years in politics," after joining the BJP. There have only been a handful of times in over 30 years when I have encountered lions. I just met a lion who serves as the home minister. He informed me that Punjab had survived 400 invasions for India and that we would not abandon it in its current state. He spoke of his faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the rising stature of India in the international community.
