Coronavirus India Update: 82.89% cases from 13 regions, WHO puts Indian variant of virus under alarming category

Coronavirus India Update:

After struggling from the second wave of the Covid-19 virus for many days, the Coronavirus cases in India have shown a downfall now, and have reached a mark of 3.5 lakhs each day, which earlier used to be around 4 lakhs. Adding to it, the statistics of daily new cases have been outshined by the daily recoveries of the Covid patients. 

The Health Ministry has stated that the daily recoveries of the Covid-19 patients are now around 3.28 lakhs from the past few days, which is the first such instance in the second wave of Coronavirus in India. And considering the total active Covid-19 cases have shown downfall by 26,000. 

While 82.89% of the total caseload of the active cases is divided amongst the most affected 13 states including Delhi and Maharashtra. 

While the WHO has categorized the Indian strain of the Covid-19 virus which is, B1617 under the Alarming category at the global level. A doctor from WHO’s technical team, Dr Maria Van Kerkhove stated that this India variant of the Covid-19 was put under the category of a tight watch and WHO needs more information on this variant of the coronavirus.
