Coronavirus India Update: Maharashtra reports over 100 Delta Plus variant cases, 16 out of 78 people landed from Afghanistan tested Covid positive

Coronavirus India Update:

A recent warning considering the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country has been issued as the Covid-19 cases in the country are constantly surging in recent days. India reported 37,593 Coronavirus cases within the past 24 hours and 648 people died of the Covid-19 virus.

Covid-19 statistics today: 

Total active Covid-19 cases in India: 3,22,327

Total recoveries from Coronavirus in India: 34,169

India Covid-19 recovery rate: 97.67%

Maharashtra Covid-19 update: 

The Covid-19 contamination in Maharashtra is on a constant surge, as the state has reported 27 new Delta Plus variant Covid-19 cases. Hence, as per the official statistics from the health department, there are 103 Delta Plus variant cases in Maharashtra. 

BMC stated that out of the recently tested 188 samples sent for genome sequencing, 128 samples were recorded of Delta variant, 2 of Alpha variant, and 24 samples of Kappa variant were found. 

While Kerala is reporting the highest Covid-19 cases across the country as the state recently report 24,296 Coronavirus cases, and the Kerala positivity rate has reached 18.04%.

16 out of 78 people who landed in India from Afghanistan found Covid positive:

Out of the 78 people who landed in India from Afghanistan, 16 people have been tested Covid positive including the 3 granthies who carried the swaroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. All the 78 people have been quarantined.
