The news of rapidly increasing Coronaviruscases is emerging from Haridwar’s ongoing Kumbh Mela. While Haridwar’s CMO Dr SK Jha has claimed almost 30 Sadhus being Corona positive. 

e also stated that medical testing teams are visiting the Akhadas and are conducting the Rt PCR tests of the persists there and from tomorrow onwards, the testing process will be done pro-actively. 

Considering the current situation, the Panchayatyi Niranjanai Akhada has announced the conclusion of the Kumbh Mela 2021 on Thursday. The secretary of Akhada stated that the Kumbh Mela 2021 will be called off on 17th April 2021, while some of the members of the Akhada will participate in the fourth Shahi Snan. 

The devotees who have travelled long ways to be a part of the Kumbh Mela 2021 are mentioning that the people at Kumbh are though afraid of the Corona Virus contamination, and the government and management have also imposed various restrictions to curb the current situation of Corona Virus in Haridwar. 

Considering the ratios, around 2,168 people have been tested positive for Covid-19. The Kumbh Mela 2021,  due to the increasing Covid-19 surge will only continue for one month, which usually stretched for 3 to 4 months. While the government has stated that the Kumbh Mela, this year will conclude on 30th April 2021.
