Coronavirus India Update: 15097 new corona cases, Will lockdown be imposed in Delhi?- Watch Video

New Delhi: The national capital saw a huge spike in the covid19 cases as around 15097 new cases of corona are registered in the capital today.  The capital has been the 15.34% of positivity rate, also 6 deaths have been reported from covid19. The situation is becoming a matter of concern day by day. Already the State Government has imposed restrictions under GRAP(Graded Response Action Plan) in which social gatherings are banned, also curfew on the weekends are also imposed. Delhi has witnessed a 30 fold increase in single day Covid cases since December 28

On Wednesday, 10665 and on Tuesday 5481 cases of the corona were recorded with the positivity rate of 11.88% and 8.37% respectively.

On Thursday, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had said that the national capital is expected to register over 14,000 cases on Thursday. He also added that the Covid situation in the city was under control. “Delhi in a comfortable position in terms of hospital bed occupancy. No need for lockdown right now,” he said. 

The High Court on Thursday asked the Delhi government to inform about the spread of Omicron in Delhi and said that it would like to know the details of the percentage of severe cases among those infected with the new variant. The court demanded to know about the number of Omicron cases among the patients who are in ICUs, on ventilators or need oxygen support. The Delhi government complied that it will apprise the court about the exact position in the city on the next date of hearing, which falls on  February 1.

 

New Guidelines by Delhi Government for Coronavirus

 

Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain repotrted that the national capital is expected to add nearly 17,000 Covid cases on Friday. The positivity rate of around 17 per cent. Meanwhile, OPD services in AIIMS Hospital & all centres will continue to function with restricted registrations limited to only prior appointment patients (new & follow up). Also, shops in markets, complexes and malls dealing with non essential goods will open on odd-even basis between 10am and 8pm.
