Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the exam dates for CTET. Exams will begin from 28th December 2022 and will be held till 7th February 2022. CBSE has released the admit cards for CTET exams to be conducted on 28th and 29th December 2022. Candiates can download the admit card from the official website at ctet.nic.in. 

What is CTET exam?

CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility test. These exams are conducted by CBSE in India to determine the eligibility and appointment of candidates as teachers in Indian schools. CTET takes place twice a year and is for teachers who want to teach from classes 1-8.  The two types of CTET exams include Paper 1, and Paper 2. Paper 1 is given by the candidates who’re planning to teach from classes 1-5. Candidates who’re planning to teach from classes 5-8 appear for paper 2. 

According to information, this year a total of 32.45 lakh candidates have registered for CTET exams 2022. The CTET 2022 examination will be conducted in two shifts in 74 cities at 243 centres. A total of 2,59,013 candidates were expected to appear for the CTET examination. 

CTET exams guidelines

  • The gates of the examination center will open two hours before the examination.

  • Students should try to reach the examination center half an hour before the time.

  • It is necessary for the general category students to bring at least 60 percent in the examination.

  • On the other hand, for students belonging to Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, this minimum mark is 55 percent.

  • It is necessary for any candidate to secure the minimum qualifying marks in order to clear the CTET exam.

  • Paper-1 of CTET exam is from 9.30 am to 12 noon and second paper is from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
