Krishnan Ramanujam appointed as Nasscom Chairperson 

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), has recently announced the appointment of Krishnan Ramanujam. Ramanujam is the President, Enterprise Growth Group, at Tata Consultancy Services, as the industry body's chairperson for 2022-23. Krishnan takes on the position from his previous role as vice-chairperson, succeeding Rekha M. Menon, chairperson and senior managing director of Accenture in India who served as chairperson of NASSCOM for the year 2021-22. 
 

PM Modi For Approving Rs 2,426 Crore For 2g To 4g Mobile Service Upgradation in Naxal Hit Areas

The Union Cabinet has approved the upgradation of 2G mobile sites to 4G in Naxal-hit areas. The whole project will cost Rs 2,426 crore, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Wednesday. The project is spread across 10 states and the task has been assigned to the state-owned telecom firm BSNL.
 

Pm Svanidhi Scheme Extended till 2024

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a proposal to extend the validity of the Prime Minister SVANidhi scheme. Under this scheme subsidised and collateral-free loans are provided to Covid-hit street vendors in urban areas. Svanidhi is extended up to December 2024 from March 2022. A total credit of Rs 8,100 crore will now be facilitated at an interest subvention of 7% during the course of the scheme, compared with that of Rs 5,000 crore estimated earlier.
 

Former captain of women’s hockey team Elvera Brito passes away

Former Indian women’s hockey team captain Elvera Brito passed away on Tuesday due to old age-related problems. In 1965, Elvera became only the second female hockey player after Anne Lumsden (1961) to be awarded the Arjuna Award.
 

International Dance Day 2022

It is also known as World Dance Day. The day promotes art and culture, and raises awareness among the public regarding the "art of dance". It also spread education about several forms of dance and their value in its art form. It is celebrated annually on 29 April. This day dance is celebrated globally and it was created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO. The date 29 April was chosen because it is the birthday of famous French dance artist Jean-Georges Noverre, who was born in 1727, a ballet master and a great reformer of dance.
