Laxmi Singh, an IPS officer, has been named the new head of the Noida Police Department by the Uttar Pradesh government, making her the first woman to lead a Police Commissionerate in the state. On Wednesday, the officer from the 2000 batch who took Alok Singh's place in Gautam Buddh Nagar is anticipated to take over. A list of 16 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in the state who will be transferred and posted was released by the UP government late Monday night, including those for the new commissionrates of Varanasi, Agra, and Prayagraj.
