Sitiveni Rabuka has been confirmed as the next Prime Minister of Fiji. It's been more than 20 years since a former military commander assumed the post for the first time in almost seven years. The 74-year-old won his nomination through the vote of incumbent Frank He Bainimarama during the session of the Fiji Parliament in Suva. It also marks the end of his 16-year term as former Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama. In the 55-seat Fijian parliament, Sitiveni Rabuka won his 28 votes and Bainimarama his 27 votes.
On former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday, celebrated as 'Good Governance Day' across the country, the Aurangabad unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) named the star after the Bharat Ratna awardee, Aurangabad told the BJP. president Shirish Boralkar on Sunday. The distance of the star from the Earth is 392.01 light years. It is the closest star to the sun. Vajpayee was prime minister from 16 May 1996 to 1 June 1996 and again from 19 March 1998 to 22 May 2004.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'' took oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal for the third time on Monday. A day before, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had appointed him as the Prime Minister. Prachanda was dramatically pulled out of the pre-poll alliance led by the Nepali Congress on Sunday and Leader of the Opposition K.P. Sharma joined hands with Oli. An agreement has been reached between Prachanda and Oli to lead the government alternately and Oli has expressed his consent to make Prachanda the first Prime Minister.
