Becoming the tenth man in the history of test cricket, David Warner scored a century in his 100th test. He also became the second to score a double against South Africa at the MCG. He joined the elite group of players after achieving this milestone and became the second to achieve this feat after former Australian player Rickey Ponting. Joe Root was the only other cricketer to score a double hundred in his 100th Test.
Prominent Cuban social worker and human rights advocate Aleida Guevara will be conferred for the first time with the prestigious KR Gouri Amma national award, which is awarded by the K.R. Gouri Amma Foundation. The award comprises of $3000, a statuette and citation will be given away by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the ceremony which will be conducted in Kerala on January 5. Dr. Aleida is also an active member of the Cuban Medical Mission which works to improve the health conditions of children in Latin America.
