National Pollution Control Day 2022
National Pollution Control Day is celebrated every year on 2 December to bring awareness about the dangers caused due to polluted water, land, and air. Also, to highlight how to avert industrial disasters like the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The main objective is to make people aware, and spread awareness in the industries that cause various pollution like water, air, soil, and noise and affect the environment and obviously health. We can't forget, the Bhopal gas tragedy in which the leakage of poisonous gas ‘Methyl Isocyanate (MIC)’ is the worst tragedy happened in the world so far.
India assumes the Presidency of the UNSC for December month 2022
For the month of December, India will preside over the UN Security Council. India has taken over the Council's presidency twice in its two years as an elected member of the UN Security Council. In August 2021, India had previously assumed the UNSC Presidency.
M Paramasivam appointed as the new Executive Director of Punjab National Bank
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of M Paramasivam as the Executive Director of the Government-owned Punjab National Bank with an effect from December 1, 2022, for a period of three years. The experience and contribution of the new Executive Director of Punjab National Bank are spread across various domains which will further help him bringing growth to his newly assigned position. Paramasivam is an agriculture graduate who started his career as an Agricultural Extension Officer.
