First Jnanpith Awardee Rehman Rahee Dies at 98

Rehman Rahi is a prominent poet and writer known for writing several well known poems as well translation works. For his collection "Siyah Rood Jaeren Manz," Rehman Rahi won the Jnanpith Award, the nation's top literary honour, in 2007. (In Black Drizzle). In 2000, he was also given the Padma Shri award for his contributions.

 

Anahat Singh Clinches Girls U-15 Squash Title

At prestigious British Junior open competition held on Sunday in Birmingham, Indian squash prodigy Anahat Singh won the girls' under 15 division. The Egyptian Sohaila Hazem was defeated 3-1 in the final by the 14-year-old. Every year in January, the British Junior Open is held in the UK, when the greatest players from across the world battle for the coveted trophy. It was held this year, from January 4 to January 8, following a two-year hiatus brought on by Cronavirus. 

 

Kerala Becomes 1st State To Enable Digital Banking In All Eligible Accounts

Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced on Saturday that the state had become the first in the nation to completely digitise its banking system. He added that this distinction would help the state's economy. At a ceremony held there, Vijayan claimed that this accomplishment was made possible by social interventions made by institutions of local self-government, as well as by the growth of infrastructure and technology advancements in the banking industry.
