UAE set to host 2022 edition of Asia Cup in August

Due to the current political climate in Sri Lanka, the eagerly awaited Asia Cup 2022 will instead be held in the United Arab Emirates, according to an announcement made on Wednesday by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The tournament set to start from August 27 and go on till September 11 as scheduled originally.

Commonwealth Games: PV Sindhu, Manpreet to be flagbearers for India

The Olympic double medalist in badminton Manpreet Singh, the captain of the Indian men's hockey team, and PV Sindhu were chosen on Wednesday to carry the national flag during the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) added Manpreet as the second flagbearer after learning from the organisers that each nation needed two flagbearers—one male and one female—while Sindhu's name was announced from a shortlist of three competitors.

Expression of Interest (EOI) for Monekypox vaccine

The Center issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) call on Wednesday for the creation of vaccinations to prevent monkeypox. According to the EOI documentation, the Monkeypox Virus strain/isolates are willing to be made accessible for research and development validation by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
