Maharana Pratap Jayanti 2022

Born on May 9, 1540, Maharana Pratap is celebrated as the first freedom fighter of our country. He is remembered for the bravery of Akbar's disobedience and his faithful horse Chetak. The Maharana fought valiantly against the Mughal Empire at a time when others accepted Akbar's supremacy. Today Jayanti is being celebrated in his memory. Finance Ministry: Rs 7,183 cr revenue released deficit grant to 14 states

On Friday, the Finance Ministry said it has released the first instalment of revenue deficit grant of Rs 7,183 crore to 14 states. The grant has been released as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission to Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

KIUG 21 host, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), today to become the winner of the Khelo India University Games 2021. The University team topped the chart with 20 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals, followed by Lovely Professional University (LPU) with 17 golds and Punjab University with 15 gold medals.

World Food Prize 2022

The World Food Prize (WFP) is an international award that honours an individual's contributions to global development by increasing the quantity, quality, or availability of food. Cynthia Rosenzweig was named as the winner for 2022 by World Food Prize president Barbara Stinson. She is a senior research scientist and head of the Climate Impacts Group at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York City.

Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, 3 other Indians awarded Pulitzer 2022

Slain photojournalist Danish Siddiqui and three of his colleagues from Reuters -- Adnan Abidi, Sanna Irshad Mattoo and Amit Dave -- were awarded the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in the Feature Photography category for their work on documenting India’s battle against the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
