World Turtle Day 2022
World Turtle Day is observed throughout the world on 23 May. The day is celebrated to make people aware of the conservation and protection of turtles and tortoises.
American Tortoise Rescue (ATR) first observed World Turtle Day in 1990 and since then the world has been observing this day globally.
PM Modi inaugurates India's first 5G testbed
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the country's first 5G testbed. This wil help startups and industry players test and validate their products locally and reduce dependence on foreign facilities. The cost of the testbed is around Rs 220 crore.
International Day for Biological Diversity 2022
International Day of Biodiversity is celebrated every year on 22 May to maintain the balance between the animals and plants present on the earth and to increase awareness and understanding among the people about the issues of biodiversity. It was celebrated on 29th December. Since 2001. This year’s theme of International day of Biodiversity is “Building a shared future for all life”.
National Anti-Terrorism Day 2022
To deal with the dreadful issue of terrorism, the day of 21 May is celebrated in India as 'National Anti-Terrorism Day. In fact, it is a day to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in terrorist attacks and the day also honours the sacrifice of thousands of soldiers who fought against terrorism. Its official announcement was made on 21 May 1991 following the assassination of India's seventh Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was killed in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu during a terrorist operation by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
International Tea Day 2022
International Tea Day: The United Nations (UN) has declared May 21 as International Tea Day on the recommendations of India, however, this day is celebrated on December 15 Every Year. The proposal was made by India at the International Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) Intergovernmental Group meeting held in Milan 4 years ago.
