World Science Day for Peace and Development 2022
The UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared World Science Day for Peace and Development in 2001 under UNESCO 31 C/Resolution 20. Every year on November 10, people around the world commemorate the importance of science in society. The day emphasises the importance of science in society and the importance of engaging the general public in discussions about emerging scientific issues. It also emphasises the significance and relevance of science in our everyday lives.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Charlotte Edwards, Abdul Qadir inducted into ICC Hall of Fame
Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Charlotte Edwards, and Abdul Qadir have been inducted into the International Cricket Council's Hall of Fame. The trio will be honoured ahead of the first T20 World Cup semi-final at the SCG. After making his debut in 1994, Chanderpaul went on to have a 21-year career representing West Indies.
Aruna Miller first Indian-American to win Maryland Lieutenant Governor race
Aruna Miller made history on Tuesday by becoming the first Indian-American politician to be elected Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, which borders the United States capital. Miller, 58, a former delegate to the Maryland House, was running for Lieutenant Governor alongside Democratic Governor-elect Wes Moore.
