Indian Army Celebrates 76th Infantry Day
Every year on October 27, Indian Army Infantry Day is observed to pay tribute to the soldiers who fought for the country and died in the line of duty. This year, on October 27, soldiers will hold four simultaneous bike rallies from all four cardinal directions, in Wellington (Tamil Nadu), Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), Shillong (Meghalaya), and Ahmedabad (Gujarat). The rally began on October 16 and will travel across the country, culminating on Infantry Day at the National War Memorial.
The Ukrainian people awarded the European Parliament’s 2022 Sakharov Prize
The European Parliament has bestowed the annual Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought on the people of Ukraine in recognition of their resistance to Russia's invasion. Following a decision by the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced the laureate for 2022 in the Strasbourg plenary chamber (the President and political group leaders).
