Assam: PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Kokrajhar Cancer Centre

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Kokrajhar Cancer Centre from Dibrugarh along with Barpeta, Darrang, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Tezpur Cancer Centres, after physically inaugurating the Dibrugarh Cancer Centre along with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and a host of dignitaries.

India, Maldives Plans Interconnection For Transfer Of Renewable Power

India and Maldives plan to set up a transmission interconnection for the transfer of renewable power between the two countries. The proposal was discussed during the meeting between Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh and Maldives' Environment, Climate Change and Technology Minister Aminath Shauna in the national capital on Tuesday. Singh appreciated the resolve of the Maldives government to achieve a net-zero emission target by 2030, according to a power ministry statement.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 successfully completes four years

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, UBA  2.0 has completed 4 years on 25 April was launched in 2018, with the vision of transformational change in rural development processes. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a flagship programme of the Education Ministry that aims to link the Higher Education Institutions with a set of at least five villages so that these institutions can contribute to the economic and social betterment of these village communities using their knowledge base. Its objective is also to engage the faculty and students of Higher Educational Institutions in understanding rural realities. Currently, 748 Institutions are participating under the scheme. In phase -2 of the scheme, 605 institutions have been selected. Out of these 313 are Technical Institutions and 292 are Non-Technical Institutions.
