India is one among the several nations working to aid the trapped citizens of both countries. The World Bank has also offered assistance to Turkey in the interim. On Thursday, the World Bank announced that Turkey would receive $1.78 billion in assistance. In a statement, World Bank President David Malpass said, "We are providing emergency support and swiftly analyzing the immediate and large-scale requirements on the ground."
At the 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, Tajinderpal Singh Toor won the shot put gold medal. Tajinder, who now holds the record for the longest outdoor shot put throw, also excelled in the indoor competition. Toor won the gold medal in the current competition in Astana, Kazakhstan, with his best indoor throw of 19.49 meters.
In response to the current agitation for special status and statehood under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, the Center on Sunday named a new lieutenant governor for Ladakh. LG of Ladakh has been selected as BD Mishra, a former Indian Army brigadier now serving as the governor of Arunachal Pradesh. Radha Krishnan Mathur served as the lieutenant governor here before him.
