Budget 2023: Railways gets outlay of ₹2.4 lakh crore 

Nirmala Sitharaman, the union finance minister, revealed a record-breaking increase in funding for the Railway Ministry of 75% on Wednesday (February 1) while delivering the last full Union Budget of the Narendra Modi-led government before to the 2024 general elections. In comparison to the previous fiscal year, the Finance Minister has set aside Rs 2.40 lakh crore for the financial year 2023–24, an increase of Rs 1.03 lakh crore. According to Sitharaman, the money allocated for the railways is nine times what was given in 2013–2014. 

 

Union Budget 2023: 50 Destinations To Be Uplifted for Tourism 

The travel and tourism industry will be a major emphasis of the Union Budget, which will be unveiled on February 1, 2023. 50 tourist destinations will be chosen with the help of the state governments. These locations will be developed as a whole for both domestic and foreign tourists. State governments will actively participate in "Mission Mode," which will stimulate public-private collaborations and the convergence of government initiatives. In her fifth Budget announcement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that both domestic and foreign tourists find the country to be quite attractive. 

 

Former PM Manmohan Singh conferred Lifetime Achievement Honour in UK 

The India-UK Achievers Honours in London recently presented the former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh with a Lifetime Achievement Honour for his contributions to economic and political life. The National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) UK will present Dr. Singh with the Honor, which was announced at an awards ceremony last week, in New Delhi at a later time.
