Major General H Dharmarajan appointed GOC Bengal Sub Area
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Bengal Sub Area, Major General H Dharmarajan, assumed his position on Thursday. Dharmarajan is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the IMA in Dehradun, and the National Defence Academy in Khandakwasla. The new GOC has taken higher command seminars in New Delhi and Washington, DC. Throughout his tenure, the general oversaw the Rashtriya Indian Military College in addition to commanding an infantry division on the Line of Control.

By scoring his first T20I century in the decisive third T20I match against New Zealand in Ahmedabad, Gill broke records for joy. He finished with an unbeaten 126 off 63 balls to help India reach a massive 234 for 4, which was far too much for the visitors, who collapsed for 66 in just 12.1 overs as India won the series again at home.
M Subbarayudu appointed as India's High Commissioner to Namibia
M. Subbarayudu (IFS: 1994), presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Peru, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Namibia, notified by Ministry of External Affairs. According to the MEA, he joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1994.
