Bengaluru-based composer Ricky Kej wins third Grammy Award
Ricky Kej, a Bengaluru-based music composer, has received his third Grammy Award for the album "Divine Tides." The drummer of the renowned British rock band The Police, Stewart Copeland, who worked with the US-born musician on the album, also received an award. The pair won the gramophone award for best immersive audio album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. For the same record last year, they received a Grammy in the best new age album category.
Veteran singer Vani Jairam Dies
Vani Jairam, a legendary playback singer who received National Awards and this year's Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour, was discovered dead at her Chennai home on Saturday. She was reportedly discovered dead and bleeding from her forehead at her home in Chennai's Nungambakkam neighbourhood on Haddows Road. Age-wise, she was 78.
India Energy Week 2023
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared Monday's inauguration of Bengaluru's "India Energy Week 2023" to be the country's first significant energy event under its G20 presidency. The goal of the India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru, which will take place from February 6–8, is to highlight the nation's growing strength as a leader in the energy transformation. Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, and CM Basavaraj Bommai were also in attendance.
