In the Australian Open 2023 men's singles championship match, Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas. Djokovic won the 22nd grand slam and his 10th Australian Open. With his 22nd Grand Slam victory, he equals Rafael Nadal's record. Aryna Sabalenka won the women's singles tennis competition at the 2023 Australian Open by defeating Elena Rybakina in the championship match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
At the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's House) in Delhi, the famous Mughal Gardens now go by a new name. The public can visit the gardens starting on January 31.. The Central Government changed the name of the Mughal Gardens to Amrit Udyan in keeping with the theme of the "Amrit Mahotsav" commemorating 75 years of India's Independence. According to the Rashtrapati Bhavan website, Amrit Udyan is inspired by the Mughal Grounds in Jammu & Kashmir, the gardens surrounding the Taj Mahal, and even miniature paintings of India and Persia.
On Sunday at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Germany defeated Belgium in penalty shootouts 5-4 to win its third Hockey World Cup title. There were some individual accolades up for grabs at the end of the campaign, despite the fact that all teams had their sights set on the World Cup trophy, the ultimate reward.
