Tim Cook opens gate to Apple's first-ever store in India
Apple has opened its first store in India today, ending the lengthy wait for the company's followers. In Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex, Apple CEO Tim Cook officially opened the company's first brick-and-mortar location in the nation. During the opening of the Apple BKC outlet, Cook was spotted personally greeting clients while staff members applauded and cheered.
Govt Launches ‘Sangathan Se Samriddhi’ Scheme
The 'Sangathan Se Samriddhi' campaign was launched today by rural development minister Giriraj Singh. Inclusion of all qualified rural women in Self Help Groups (SHGs) will empower marginalised rural households. Speaking at the event, the Minister stated that the government aims to increase the number of women covered by SHGs from the current nine crore to 10 crore.Mr. Singh stated his joy that there are now more than nine crore members, up from just 2.35 crore in May 2014. According to him, the government has set a goal for every woman involved in SHGs to be able to earn one lakh rupees annually. He persuaded the ladies to grow millets.
