While researching reports from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) and the Global Forecast System (GFS), IMD provided this report.

The eastern regional director of Cyclone Mocha, Sanjeev Bandyopadhyay, forecast that a cyclone would form on May 6 in the southeast Bay of Bengal during a press conference on Saturday.On Sunday, May 7, the next day, the cyclone is expected to fade away. May 8 will bring about a terrible episode. It will become a cyclonic storm on May 9 as the cyclone worsens.

Who gave the name Mocha?

'Yaman' was supposed to name the first cyclone of the year in alphabetical order. Then, on May 6, Yemen proposed Cyclone Mocha as the name of the cyclone that struck the Bay of Bengal. Mocha is a port city on Yemen's Red Sea coast.
